Per Location Aggregate
Definition
A per location aggregate is a general liability endorsement that gives each of your locations its own separate aggregate limit, instead of all locations sharing one. It keeps a bad year at one property from using up liability coverage for the others.
In Plain English
A standard general liability policy has a general aggregate limit, which is the most it will pay for all covered claims in the policy period. If you insure several properties on one policy, a few large claims at one site could use up that limit for everyone. A per location aggregate endorsement, often the CG 25 04, applies the aggregate separately to each designated location.
This is common for owners of several shopping centers, apartment complexes or gas stations. Lenders and tenants frequently require it, especially in loan documents for multi-property portfolios.
It is similar to a per project aggregate, which does the same for construction projects. Both work on the general aggregate of the commercial general liability policy, not the per occurrence limit.

Example
Hypothetical: an owner insures 5 strip centers on one policy with a $2,000,000 general aggregate. Without a per location endorsement, two $1,000,000 claims at one center could exhaust coverage for all five. With it, each center has its own $2,000,000 aggregate.
What to Watch For
- Ask whether your liability policy includes a per location aggregate endorsement.
- Check that every location is listed if the endorsement applies only to designated locations.
- Review lender and lease requirements for this endorsement.
- Confirm how your umbrella responds to multiple location aggregates.
